Cnet News This Week Reported That An Unreleased Version Of

14. dec 2011 14:37, ecgepe

CNET News this week reported that an unreleased version of the iPhone was lost at Cava22, a bar in the Mission District. As ZDNet's Jason O'Grady noted lightning strikes twice given that Apple's iPhone 4 was also lost. This iPhone tale turned into a national story. Now, a lost test device isn't exactly a crisis for Cook, but the events that follow could become a major headache. According to Sergio CalderГіn, the man at the center of this week's story, six people wearing badges showed up to look for a lost iPhone that was traced to him via GPS. SF Weekly also reports that these folks said they were from the San Francisco Police Department. Losing a prototype is one thing. Impersonating the cops is another matter entirely. Now that SF Weekly has connected this lost iPhone saga to Anthony Colon, an Apple investigator, this flap could turn out to be a real problem. After Steve Jobs stepped down as CEO, Cook probably thought his next big item was to launch the iPhone 5. Now it looks like his first big chore will be putting out fires related to this lost device. This story originally appeared on ZDNet's Between the Lines.

Now Several Labels Are Dreaming Up A Scheme To Charge

14. dec 2011 14:37, ecgepe

Now, several labels are dreaming up a scheme to charge music fans any time they get a song stuck in their head. The technology is a few years away, but according to several well-placed sources in Hollywood, the labels are funding an organization known as Earworm Research Labs to come up with a speciialized low-cost variation of MRI technology. Unlike the MRI machines used in hospitals, these scanners would focus only on a specific part of the brain--the part that shows activity when you have a song running through your head. The goal is to get these scanners small enough and cheap enough to be built into cell phones. When users lift the phone to their ears, the scanner would beam a stream of electrons at the appropriate part of the brain and transmit the scan results back to a centralized database containing the brain patterns for millions of popular song. If a match is found, that would mean you had a particular song in your head at that moment, and cellular company would add a few cents to your bill. The proceeds would be split among rights holders, with the phone company taking a cut for enabling the service. Sounds like a great idea to me--I know there's plenty of music in my head that I've never paid for, like George Harrison's "I've Got My Mind Set On You," "We Will Rock You" by Queen, and Billy Squier's "The Stroke." Those artists have obviously reached me in a deep, substantial way--why shouldn't I have to pay them?

Aol Chief Executive Tim Armstrong Has Reached Out To Yahoo

14. dec 2011 14:37, ecgepe

AOL Chief Executive Tim Armstrong has reached out to Yahoo to see if the company, which just fired its CEO Carol Bartz, is interested in merging the two companies, according to Bloomberg, citing two unnamed sources. Evidently Armstrong has talked with private equity firms as well as Allen & Co., the investment bank working with Yahoo on examining strategic options, according to the report. A deal, if it were to happen, would pair two foundering companies that have squandered their once preeminent positions in tech. And rumors of the two companies combining have surfaced before, only to disintegrate with time. According to Bloomberg, Armstrong approached Yahoo last year about merging the companies but was rejected while Bartz was running Yahoo. He decided to revisit the idea after Bartz's firing. Under one of the proposals, Bloomberg reports, Armstrong could become chief executive of the combined companies. While both companies have some valuable assets--huge user bases, among them--they both have crippling problems. Both companies have failed to keep up with Internet trends. They both have legacy businesses that haven't performed. And they're both suffering from declining sales. Neither AOL or Yahoo responded to requests for comment. Typically I Write About Storage

14. dec 2011 14:37, ecgepe

Typically I write about storage. Now, as part of my research, I'm writing about data--data about you. The hottest commodity on the Web right now is data that describes who you are, what you like, what you do, who you know, where you've gone, where you might be, and what you are likely to do. There are potentially tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of buyers, sellers, and collectors of data about you. For example, retailers of all stripes--from online to bricks and mortar--believe that they can sell more to you when they know more about you. They no longer want to sell to the anonymous masses. They want to sell to the person they think you are. And they are not alone. Accelerating sales drives the desire for data about you for any company that deals directly with the general public. You can donate data about yourself freely when you "opt in" to services that share your data with your consent. Or, you can give it away freely just by surfing the Web. Your click trail speaks to who you are. It can be stored and retrieved later by someone, or it can be analyzed in real time. And data about you can be gathered unscrupulously, for example, by Web sites that sell it without your consent. But the Web pales in comparison to the smartphone as a potential collector of data about you. The smartphone knows where you go and when. It knows who you talk to. And when you use it to make purchases, as is now envisioned with the advent of electronic money, it can know what you buy and for how much. It could even know what you decided not to buy. In fact, what you don't do when given the chance is just as important to those who want to know you as what you do. Data about you is increasingly becoming a matter of electronic record that is bought and sold. I believe that the way you respond to knowing that fact depends at least in part on your age. The older you are, the more likely you are to feel Big Brother's intrusion into your private life and will want to protect yourself. Younger generations are more trusting of technology and more likely to opt in. And trust is another predictor of your willingness to opt in to services that share data about you. For example, if you become seriously ill, you might appreciate the growing movement in health care called personalized medicine. In this case, data about your health and your electronically recorded personal genome is correlated with data about positive outcomes for treatment modalities seen with patients whose genomes are similar to yours. Knowing this, you might prefer personalized medicine to the way health care is now delivered. You could trust that your health care provider is ultimately acting in your best interest and would be willing to reveal your genomic data to that provider as well as share--anonymously of course--your genomic data with research institutions so that others might be helped as you have been. Data that defines you is hot. I believe that it motivates recently proposed acquisitions like Google's plan to buy Motorola Mobility. It's also a major driver of the many big data analytics technologies--Hadoop, perhaps, foremost among them--that are now emerging in corporate data centers. However, technologies that capture, analyze, and store data that defines you are a double-edged sword. Depending on the intent of users of that data, you can be helped or hurt. It has traditionally been the role of government to protect us from those who mean to do us harm. Yet government appears to be incapable at the present time to even begin to have a dialogue with us over how we should be protected. Is government-sponsored electronic surveillance for example, good because it would protect us from those that would do us ill? Yes? Yes, sometimes? No, never? Indeed, do you even trust government enough to act in your best interest with your data? Notwithstanding the current downswing in sentiment toward the need for government in any form, it's a debate we need to have, and soon.

In What Was A Much More Expedient Process Than Many

14. dec 2011 14:36, ecgepe

In what was a much more expedient process than many believed, Google's controversial plan to acquire travel search company ITA Software for $700 million is a done deal. After posting a blog entry on Friday that the deal was close to completion, Google added an update yesterday that said, "Our acquisition of ITA has now closed." Google's announcement on Friday was that it had reached a settlement with the Department of Justice over regulator concerns that Google would have too much power by owning ITA Software, which provides its travel search technology to companies like Kayak, TripAdvisor, and Bing as well as airlines like United Airlines and Virgin Atlantic. "It's important to us that ITA continue with business as usual, providing great service to its business partners. We indicated last July that we would honor ITA's existing contracts," Google's blog post on Friday explained. "Today we've formally committed to let ITA's customers extend their contracts into 2016. We've also agreed to let both current and new customers license ITA's QPX software on 'fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory terms' into 2016--along with related commitments aimed at making ITA's technology available to other travel sites." In other words, Google is required to keep things business-as-usual at ITA without instituting competitive measures--and the Justice Department is watching. Numerous members of the travel search community, including Kayak and Bing, had joined a coalition called FairSearch.org in an attempt to keep ITA independent. The FairSearch.org coalition seems to have been satisfied with the Google-DOJ deal. "The Department concluded Google's unrestricted control over ITA's key flight search technology would have violated the antitrust laws," a statement Friday from the group read. "By putting in place strong, ongoing oversight and enforcement tools, the Department has ensured that consumers will continue to benefit from vibrant competition and innovation in travel search. While this enforcement action is an important victory, Google's abuse of its search dominance still threatens competition and consumers in many critical areas of online services. Antitrust enforcers and lawmakers in the U.S. and elsewhere must remain vigilant in their investigation of these larger concerns and take whatever further enforcement actions are needed to protect consumers." Adam Goldstein, co-founder of tiny travel search start-up Hipmunk, seemed to think Google's settlement with the Justice Department would keep the travel search business more or less in the same position is it now--for the most part. "I think what's going to happen is Google's going to build their own search site or search feature, or something like that but they're going to probably charge people who want be listed just like they charge people who want to be listed in search ads, and so people who could previously get leads basically for free through search-engine optimization are probably going to have to pay for those leads," Goldstein told CNET. "Given how expensive travel ads are online, I can imagine that may price out some companies that are used to getting things for free from Google." He also pointed out that there are plenty of areas where Google could, in fact, make ITA better. "Google is known for having hundreds of thousands or millions of servers, and it's interesting to think what would happen if they took ITA and ran it on millions of servers," Goldstein told CNET. "You could probably get results that would have otherwise been impossible to find." This post was expanded at 1:16 p.m. PT.

Make Sparks

14. dec 2011 14:36, ecgepe

Hello to the world, exclaims lead singer Craig Parker on this, the new single from Dundee three-piece Make Sparks. The groups first release since 2009, after two years touring with acts such as Feeder and Sucioperro, Youre Heart Is On Fire is filled with infectious hooks, riffs and drum fills aplenty, all together resulting in an indie anthem strong enough to challenge the standard set by fellow countrymen Biffy Clyros latest efforts. Currently gearing up for a seven date tour north of the border, the band were recently championed on Radio 1, and with whispers of a full UK tour ahead of plans for a debut album early next year, expect more of the world to sit up and take note very soon. Spirituality And Making Money

14. dec 2011 14:36, ecgepe

"I've been rich and I've been poor. Rich is better."—Sophie Tucker Your wildest dreams come true: you pick the winning numbers in the lottery and suddenly you are a millionaire! What do you do first? There was a study done years ago that determined the top three things that most lotto winners did immediately upon winning their fortunes—and nearly 90% of them did all of these three things. I will give them to you in reverse order, a la David Letterman: #3. They bought a new car. #2. They took a trip. (If they were married with children, they went to Walt Disney World in Florida. If they were married without children or single, they went to Hawaii.) #1. They said, "This isn't going to change me." That one fearful statement, "This isn't going to change me," rang in my consciousness like a clarion call. To me, this is stark evidence that most people have a negative picture of what having money will do to them. Many people in our society grow up with the idea that "dirty money" or "filthy lucre" will somehow corrupt them—that it would somehow make them arrogant, miserly or exploit others and lose all their friends. Doesn't it make sense that if you thought money was a powerful force for good and that having an abundance of money would mean you could make large contributions to worthy causes, that a lottery winner would say instead, "This is really going to change me for the better"? After years spent as a "starving actor", I decided it was time to start making money. I went into business for myself with a bookkeeping service. But when I started thinking about becoming a prosperous person, I hit a stumbling block. There was a quote from the Bible that worried me for a long time: "It's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of the needle than for a rich man to get into heaven." (I quibbled for awhile that it said nothing about a rich woman, but ultimately, I knew it meant me, too.) I wanted to be a rich person, but I wanted to be a good person and hopefully go to heaven, too. How was I going to do both? I knew that, as a spiritual person, if I felt that money would corrupt me, I wasn't going to allow it into my life. I needed to change my attitude about having money if I wanted more abundance in my life. One evening, I happened across a television program that featured several religious scholars examining some Biblical statements, taking into account the geographical and cultural era in which it was written. I heard one scholar mention the above quotation and comment that most people misunderstood it. He said that people thought that the needle mentioned was a common sewing needle and therefore, of course, it was impossible for a camel to get through it's eye. But he laughed and said that "The Eye of the Needle" was the name of a gate in the wall of Jerusalem. And that a camel could easily get through it—a moderately laden camel, that is, not a heavily laden camel. This changes the entire message. To me, this suggests that the lesson was only an admonishment to be balanced about wealth, and not overdo it to the point of overburdening your camel! Leo J. Fishbeck, in his book Sing Your Song For All You're Worth states "A careful study of the Bible, particularly the Old Testament, reveals that the people who were considered to be the most spiritual, those who were the great contributors to enlightened thinking, the most highly regarded, were usually very wealthy people—millionaires by our standards. As we read about their many accomplishments we find that, usually, the account ends with the statement, вЂ˜And he was favored by God.' According to the ancient authors of the Scriptures, there must be a connection between prosperity and Spirituality." Money is a neutral. It will not corrupt you—only your use of it will. The choice to use money for good is always available to you. It is the wealthy who set up charitable foundations, endow hospitals, establish scholarships, promote art, literature, theater, etc. Ted Turner donated one billion dollars to the United Nations. Bill and Melinda Gates have funded their foundation with more than twenty billion dollars. You can't do things like that if you're broke. You can't help the poor and starving if you are the poor and starving. As I built my business management firm, I worked with many different clients to help them manage their money. I began to notice patterns of behavior and places where people got stuck. If someone's unconscious behavior with money was spending more than they made, it wouldn't matter how much they made—they would find a way to spend more than whatever amount of money they had. I noticed that the wealthy people often were missing out on spiritual values, and the spiritual people were broke. Why were spirit and money disconnected? Why shouldn't people be prosperous both inside and outside? I created the Financial Stress Reduction Workshop to help guide people to do both—to help them make more money, have more time off for fun, and be both spiritually and materially rich. As I marketed the program, I was fascinated by the responses I received. "Oh, I really don't want to focus on money," said the woman on the phone. A mid-level executive who worked in training and development for a major corporation, we had met at a networking meeting. She was very interested in my course, but balked at the idea of taking a class centered on money. Her main goal was to help people and do meaningful work, she said. Many people I've talked with have this same idea—that the pursuit of money for it's own sake is inappropriate, and maybe even bad. They say, "I don't care about the money" or "The money isn't important to me." What they are trying to make clear is that they have a larger objective, a goal of helping others or doing work they love that transcends their need for money. They don't want anyone to think they're "just in it for the money." Unfortunately, that is not what they say. Words are powerful. When they speak their word that they "don't care about money" what they are inadvertently doing is telling their creative mind, God and the universal power of supply not to send money. Their need to state it this way is indicative that they have a fear-based mentality about money—they are afraid that somehow, if they make a lot of money, it will corrupt them, pull them off course, make them a slave to material things, etc. But the universal power of supply that is directed by our creative minds is just a "Yes" machine. Tell it you want money—it says "Yes." Tell it you don't want money—it says "Yes." Your choice. Why not declare instead that "I really want to help and serve people, and making a lot of money will help me do that even better!" You have the power to decide to use the money that flows into your possession for good: donate to charity, expand your work to help more people, beautify your surroundings, give to the arts, invest in worthy businesses doing socially responsible work. Do care about the money! I believe that all the truly spiritual, wonderful people should have the most money, because they are the ones who will use it most positively. We are spiritual beings having a material existence. The task is to master both—not to deny either. We create our own reality from our attitudes, beliefs, thoughts and feelings. What you focus on expands—focus on fear and you will become more afraid. Focus on love and acceptance and you will get more of that. If you want evidence for what you believe in, look around you. What you have created is a reflection of your thoughts. If you want the outer reality to change, you must start with your interior reality. As you concentrate on and believe in your ability to create internal and external abundance in your life, you will begin to receive it: believing is seeing, not vice versa. When I work with groups, I always ask if anyone ever took a class on making and managing money in grade school or high school. Very few hands go up. Without any official training in this subject, people are left to formulate their own ideas based on what they heard, read or saw others do. What did you hear about money when you were growing up? What did your parents say to you when you asked for money? What did you read about money? What did your teachers, friends, neighbors tell you? What were the old cliches you heard? These thoughts became your "money mantras" and they resound in your mind whether or not you are conscious of them. And they create your financial reality. Try completing the following sentences:"Money doesn't grow ______"; "The love of money is the root _____"; "The rich get richer and _____"; "Money can't buy ______." You can call out the answers immediately, can't you? To change your experience with money, you have to change your mind about money. The practice of positive affirmations, at the very least, can put you in a more positive frame of mind. You will look and feel happier, more content—and that's the look of successful people. The more successful you look and feel, the more people will be drawn to you. Who do you want working with you—the person who's perpetually frowning, who complains about everything, who moans about not having enough money? Or the smiling, friendly soul who greets you warmly with cheer and confidence? Saying prosperity affirmations daily will help you act your way into prosperity. Prosperity affirmations aren't new. But I ask you: Are you doing them? Consistently? Every day? Because you are thinking about money every day, and I know from experience, what most people are thinking about money is neither prosperous nor affirmative. What do you think when you receive bills in the mail? Do your teeth clench? Do you shudder when you hear the word "taxes?" How do you feel about the status of your savings account? Your credit card balance? Do you respond with envy and sour grapes whenever a wealthy person is mentioned to you? If so, you need to start reprogramming your consciousness to develop a healthier attitude towards money so that you can attract it into your life. Here are some prosperity affirmations for you to use to begin changing your mind about money. These are some of my own personal favorites collected over the years: "People love to give me money!"; "I am now earning a great big income doing what makes me happy"; "All my bills are paid up in full and I still have all this money"; "A lot more money is coming to me today—and I deserve it!"; "I now receive large sums of money just for being me!" For the skeptics, I suggest saying "All my affirmations work for me, whether I believe they will or not!" Financial professionals are always harping on budgeting and saving and paying off debt. Not very much fun—no wonder few people become motivated to get control of their money. I say we should focus on the joy of money—the freedom and fun you have after you budget and save. Affirmations help you focus on the goal. Please note that just saying affirmations every day is not enough to make you prosperous. A lot of people repeat their positive money affirmations every day, but they don't get a job or start a business. They sit crossed-legged in their room, close their eyes and chant, "Ohmmm, I'm making lots of money, ohmmm..." They are not affirming—they are wishing. Affirmations aren't magic words. They don't conjure money out of the air. You use them to build your positive energy to the point where you start feeling and believing in your success—and with enough repetition, it becomes real to you, physically and emotionally in your body. From there you start feeling yourself motivated to take action and go to work to serve others, for which they pay you. It's the work, backed up by the positive beliefs, that creates the money. Studies have shown that, once above subsistence level, having more money and material success won't make you any happier. You have to already be happy. If you haven't learned how to be a happy person, how to take pleasure in the daily gifts the world offers to all of us, material goods will not satisfy you. Everyone can point to rich people who were lonely, bored, angry or depressed. Having money just made them comfortable in their misery. The single-minded pursuit of money can distract them from their despair for awhile, but in the end, if they are curled up in their castle alone with no friends, all their millions will be cold comfort. Some people are afraid to have a lot of money, because they think the money will make them like that proverbial rich person—selfish, uncaring, lonely and miserable. But money doesn't do that. It's what is done with the money that is either good or evil. If you would do evil if you had money, then you are evil now—just without power. Money does provide power. The more money you have, the more you can manifest your material desires. The downside is that you can get distracted by all the material manifestations and neglect the spiritual ones. But of course, being poor can keep you focused on the lack of material success, and that can keep you from manifesting your spiritual desires. So what is the answer? Balance. Learn to live rich, inside and out. There is internal wealth and external wealth—and they are not mutually exclusive. Focus on joy, happiness, your relationship with God, your relationships with other people, the meaning of life, and the mission of your life. Rich or poor, you can meditate and pray and make these your priorities. When you are joyful and grateful for what you have, you create the space for more to be added unto you. When you sense that there is a purpose to life and a mission within it for you to fulfill, then you act in harmony with God and the Universe. Then you open yourself to manifesting abundance in all areas of life, including financial success, and know that you will use it honorably and with wisdom for the good of all around you.

What is a Group Blog Otherwise known as a collaborative blog, a group blog is a kind of blog in which posts are prepared,В published and sometimes released by multiple authors. Blogging software has the necessary functionality built intoВ it via plugins, allowing for the operation of multiple bloggers via the use of group blog admin settings.В  В Most popular blogs which make money online are built around a single theme such as technology, political В or social commentary. Group Blogs are becoming very popular asВ businesses which wnat to makeВ money online from blogging perceive the benefits of a collaborative approach to blogging. I Cant Believe The Gall Of A Company Raising What

14. dec 2011 14:36, ecgepe

"I can't believe the gall of a company raising what I can get today by over 60 percent!" Facebook user Barbra Watkins writes in a comment. "No special offers to current customers and no reduced price for getting both. How is this in any way a good deal? Amazon prime... Here I come. At least they care about customer costs. We canceled today and won't be back." Numerous users are apparently "liking" the Netflix page just to be able to leave a negative comment, and many more claim Netflix has deleted previous comments. Clearly, they're not keeping up with the tidal wave of negative reaction. More than 300 more comments have been added since I started this paragraph. Putting more direct pressure on the company are new community pages that continue to spring up with names like "Cancel Netflix," "I Unlike Netflix Today," and "I used to love Netflix until they decided to rip me off." A few of the pages encourage Netflix users to show their contempt by participating in a mass cancellation on September 1. Over on Twitter, "Dear Netflix" is now a top trending topic, with tweets like "Dear Netflix, As much as we love the 'cerebral romantic comedy documentaries' genre you suggested, paying double is insane. k thx bai." I couldn't find any responses from Netflix anywhere amid the deluge of complaints, and a direct request for comment from the company this evening has not been answered.

Advertising Is Extremely Important For Facebook

14. dec 2011 14:36, ecgepe

Advertising is extremely important for Facebook. Earlier this month, research firm eMarketer revealed that the social network will generate $4.27 billion this year, including $3.8 billion in advertising worldwide. That figure is up a whopping 104 percent compared to its 2010 ad revenue of $1.86 billion. But even though more companies are putting ads on Facebook, eMarketer says that the world's largest social network has hit a point where it needs to show value in its service. Debra Aho Williamson, a principal analyst at eMarketer, said that Facebook needs to "show advertisers that advertising on the site is effective even without a click or other action." The issue, Williamson says, is that many companies that have "amassed a large of quantity of 'likes,'" feel that they can simply market to customers through their own Pages, rather than through ads. That might be a problem for Facebook's push to small businesses, as well. According to the Journal, small businesses have 9.2 million Pages on the site. But it's the ad sales pitch Facebook wants to make clear. Speaking to the Journal in an interview published today, Facebook vice president of advertising and global operations, David Fischer, said that the social network can see a way "to give small businesses a boost" with its ads. Facebook did not immediately respond to CNET's request for comment.

Maldives Government Complains Of Spoof Atlas Omission

14. dec 2011 14:36, ecgepe

The government of the Maldives has complained after the UK's Daily Telegraph website carried a satirical blog post saying the island nation is to be omitted from the Times Atlas of the World. The supposed omission was said to be due to impending climate change. The low-lying islands of the Maldives are at risk from rising sea levels. The spoof blog post was taken seriously by several media outlets in the Maldives. The Telegraph blog post was written by a climate change sceptic, James Delingpole. On Monday, scientists said the new edition of the Times Atlas had exaggerated the scale of ice-cover reduction in another part of the world, Greenland. Mr Delingpole's blog said the next edition of the famous atlas would continue what he called its "Climate Change alarmism", by completely erasing some very low-lying areas - the Maldives, Tuvalu and "major parts of Bangladesh". He quoted a fictitious "spokesman" for the atlas as saying that in map-making, "emotional truth" was more important than actual truth. Apology sought Some Maldivian websites and newspapers took the satirical blog seriously. An opposition politician sent out a mass text message blaming the Maldives' president for the country's omission from the map, because he'd staged events such as an underwater cabinet meeting. A spokesperson for the atlas's publisher, HarperCollins, has confirmed to a Maldives website, Minivan News, that the blog post was bogus. The Maldives' acting high commissioner in London has written to the newspaper's editor seeking a clarification and apology. He said the post had implied that his country's climate change plight was a con-trick, and this, he said, was despicable and hurtful. However, he added that Maldivians had as strong a sense of humour as anyone. A Maldives government official told the BBC the Telegraph should not publish such "nonsense" under its brand name when it could be mistaken for news. But he said Maldives newspapers should also confess to having been duped.

Theres A New Partnership For Getglue A Start Up That Lets

14. dec 2011 14:35, ecgepe

There's a new partnership for GetGlue, a start-up that lets users "check in" to the movies or TV shows they're watching, music they're listening to, and books they're reading. The company announced Tuesday that it's partnered with four major book publishing houses to launch "stickers," the equivalent of Foursquare's achievement badges, for the season's biggest-ticket fiction and nonfiction books as well as bestselling authors like Tom Clancy and Paulo Coehlo. On board are Hachette Book Group, Simon and Schuster, Random House, and Penguin. The largest publishing house that isn't participating, GetGlue Vice President of Business Development Fraser Kelton told CNET, is the News Corp.-owned HarperCollins. The "stickers" can be earned by "checking in" to participating publishers' books on GetGlue, which says it had 600,000 users as of August and about 8 million check-ins that month. The whole announcement is somewhat of a notable one. The book publishing world has been less enthusiastic than its film and TV brethren about launching social-media partnerships, with much of the high-profile campaigns and deals so far limited to teen fiction series. (Not that those aren't absent here. The "Twilight" sensation has its own GetGlue "stickers.") By encouraging more Web chatter around books, GetGlue is starting to push into a territory currently dominated by book-specific start-ups like Goodreads and LibraryThing. Disclosure: One of GetGlue's partners in the announcement is publishing house Simon and Schuster, which is owned by CBS Corp., publisher of CNET.

One Other Big Question That Remains Is Whether Microsoft Can

14. dec 2011 14:35, ecgepe

One other big question that remains is whether Microsoft can woo developers to its platform with the promise of scale. Windows president Steven Sinofsky pitched the 5,000 developers who were at the Build keynote on the merits of building on Windows 8, based on the fact that there "could be 400 million people when this product launches." Yet, even at 400 million, that could be a splintered group for developers to target. For instance, an application built for touchscreen tablets will only be aimed at those with the newer portables, which represents a smaller group (read: less revenue potential) and one with potentially different buying habits than desktop users (read: they might not pay as much per app). Then there are high-end games, which would be unplayable on the newer tablets for lack of a beefy CPU and graphics card. Yet those two things can sit side by side on Windows 8, Microsoft says. So what are developers to do? If they want the money, they go with the bigger platform, which is traditional desktop users, or a competitor like Apple or Google. That, or they can bet on the future and hope it takes off, with them being on the ground floor. To sweeten the deal, Microsoft's tried to remove any barriers to entry. That includes letting apps with different requirements sit side by side in its store, as well as offering developers a way to offer free trials of their software--both things Apple does not. It's also shown off more of its vision about where it wants to be, well ahead of when the actual software is ready for end users. These bets could very well pay off for both users and developers in the long run, with applications that can tailor themselves to run on just about any hardware, and change the very deepest parts of Windows to a user's exact liking. If Microsoft can deliver that with Windows 8, it will be treading ground that Apple hasn't.

Last Week Bewkes Said Following His Companys Second Quarter Earnings Report

14. dec 2011 14:35, ecgepe

Last week, Bewkes said following his company's second-quarter earnings report that Time Warner's film studio, Warner Bros., will release its first movievia UltraViolet, "Green Lantern," sometime in the fall. That's good news because it obviously indicates Bewkes thinks a deal to relax HBO's window will be done by then. Over at HBO, the company developed a Web-streaming service and an iPhone and Android app that have proven popular with users and critics. One of the most popular features is that HBO Go users can access every episode of "The Sopranos," "Sex in the City," "True Blood," and nearly every other show in its library. CNN, the all-news network Time Warner acquired in 1996, began offering live streaming last month, and New York-based Time Warner is reportedly working on creating tablet editions for all its magazines, which include "Sports Illustrated," "People," and "Fortune." Lessons from AOL Time Warner But if Bewkes isn't giving in to Internet services, and if he's still requires people to pay cable subscriptions to access HBO content, and if he's still not supplying Netflix with the latest Warner Bros. hit movies, it's because he believes his content is valuable regardless of the medium over which it's distributed. Bewkes may have developed some skepticism about the idea that content is less important than the technology that moves it around because he's heard this before. In 2000, when Bewkes was HBO's CEO and while he was bankrolling and helping to develop hit shows, Time Warner's then management was allowing itself to be acquired by AOL. The deal was jaw-dropping in that it meant a largely untested tech firm was gobbling up a much more established and larger media company. The combined company, which became AOL Time Warner, was led by Chairman Steve Case and CEO Gerald Levin. They believed that much of the value in the new company would be found in content distribution, specifically through AOL and Time Warner Cable. The strategy was a miserable failure and investors took a bath. AOL Time Warner was once valued at over $270 billion and a few months after the deal closed it was down to $80 billion. A big part of that was due to the bursting of the Internet bubble, but the company struggled to realize its strategy. One of the main issues was that Time Warner owned distribution services which put it into competition with other important distribution partners. Bewkes never bought in. In 2009, a year after becoming Time Warner's CEO, Bewkes unloaded AOL and Time Warner Cable and put all his chips on the company's content. Bewkes rallied investors and tried to show them that the company was sitting atop a huge treasure trove of content: magazine, news, television and film. He did this even while Internet distributors such as Google and Netflix, appeared to be siphoning off the value of that content by bundling it up and offering for far less money than traditional outlets. Now things appear to be working out for Bewkes. Time Warner said last week that second-quarter revenue rose 10 percent from the same quarter a year ago to $7.03 billion, outpacing analysts' expectations of $6.82 billion. Profits climbed to $638 million, up from $562 million in the year-ago period. The company continues to face plenty of challenges: DVD sales are still dropping and people are still seeking out Netflix. But certainly, a statement you'll never hear around Columbus Circle is "Bring back Jerry Levin and Steve Case."

Do Not Hand Over Money To Another

14. dec 2011 14:35, ecgepe

Do not hand over money to others We should not hand over our money to others. We should keep money with us or in the bank. When we are returning loan money to another, we should get receipt of the same because when he had advanced loan to us, he had prepared proper documents, as per law and therefore, we too should keep law in our mind while returning money to that fellow. Similarly if we are sending money another at another station, we can utilize the recognized sources for sending money and this hand to hand business is not proper and if the man taking money from you to hand over the same to the next man at another station does not give money at another station, we shall be facing difficulties and there are chances that this money is lost. Money is something which is useful to each one of us on this earth and therefore, the man getting money from us may be having his own needs and first of all he shall try to meet his own demands. For the time being he shall be forgetting us and there are chances that our money be lost. therefore, money should not be given such an exposure. Money transactions should always be through proper channel and that is safe. When money is out of our hands, it shall breed mental tension in us and we shall not be at peace till that money reaches the destination. This period can be of hours, can be of days, of weeks, months or it may never reach and we shall breed and establish a tension in our mind which shall remain with us during the remaining part of our life. Therefore, time has come when we should be very particular towards money and it should never be in those hands from where we are having some doubts that it shall come back or reach the prescribed destination. When we are not having money, we are under a tension. When we have given money to another person, we are under a tension and when money is kept at the house, even then it creates so many tensions in our mind. Money should always be in safe hands and only then it can give us enjoyment and satisfaction to us. Money should not be handed over to a person on whom we have a slight doubt because we shall be creating and establishing a tension and that tension shall ruin all our enjoyments and happiness. ---------------------------

Once it is up and running you can work on developing it and adding more sections as appropriate. Many people find that once they have built one topical content site they get the urge to build more, and it can certainly be a profitable way to spend your time, provided you pick niches and topics that are going to attract visitors and customers. More and more people are realising that blogging is one of the best ways to start your own online business. It requires minimal start up costs, you can build an impressive and loyal readership over time and once you know how to monetize your blog it can also bring in a decent income that will keep on coming even on the days when you don't update your blog. There are several ways to set up a blog online. You could use WordPress, Blogger, or another free site that hosts your blog for you; or alternatively you can set up your own blog under your own domain name. If you want to make serious money from blogging, you must have complete control over your blog – and that's something the free blogging accounts won't give you. You'll be bound by their terms and conditions and that usually includes not being able to actively promote anything. There are plenty of people who have established a blog only to have it removed without notice some weeks or months later. It will cost you a few dollars to buy your domain name and set up a web server that will host your blog, but the benefits will far outweigh the cost involved. It can literally be as little as $20 a year we're talking about here – and that buys you total freedom. Once you're ready to set your blog up you'll need to choose a good theme and layout for it. You might find one that relates to your choice of subject (more on that in a moment) or else there might be one you just like the look of. But there are thousands of templates available for you to use – a simple search on Google will reveal the ones that will be best suited to your topic. But perhaps the most important question is what you are going to blog about. The whole world is your oyster here – some people blog about their lives in general; some blog about their jobs; some blog about their hobbies; some tell the world about their kids and what it's like to be a parent, and still others blog about the weird world of celebrities. But whatever you choose to blog about it needs to be something you are passionate about. Don't forget, you are going to be writing about this topic several times a week, and if you don't have the enthusiasm for it, that will show in your posts – and no one else will have the enthusiasm to read them. Okay – so you've got your subject. Now you have to start writing your blog posts. If you take a look at just a few of the blogs already online, you'll notice that the length of the posts varies a lot. Some people only write a paragraph or two each time, but you'll get better results if you go for something a little longer than this. Around 400 to 500 words makes for a good post with a lot of information in it; some people write hugely long posts that are thousands of words long and could be called an e-book by another name. But you can also take the format of this blog, by posting a short blog entry which leads into a longer article. This has the benefit of highlighting a lot of blog posts on the home page of the site, and people can then click through and read the ones they like the most. You should remember however that there are no real rules when it comes to blogging. Over time you will naturally find what works for you, and your blog will settle down into a nice pattern that both you and your readers will enjoy. You'll find your character and personality will start to come through in your writing too; don't fight against this as it is one of the hallmarks of blogging. It is, after all, a personal account of an individual's life and experiences, so show people what you're made of! You'll get a more loyal – and bigger – audience like this. So you've got your blog up and running and you're posting to it on a regular basis. The next step is to get it in front of as many interested eyeballs as possible. One great way to do this is to submit it to as many of the social bookmarking sites as possible. You can also join social networking sites and build a profile which contains a link to your blog. Other no cost ways to generate traffic include writing free articles for article directories with a link to your blog at the end, and creating signatures at the end of any posts you make to internet forums, and also in all the emails you send out. When you really start thinking about it, you don't actually need to spend anything to generate plenty of traffic. All we need to do now is monetize the blog itself. You'll want to generate some money from all the visitors you'll start getting, and there are plenty of ways to do this easily. Google Adsense is probably the most well known method – you can join the program for free and display contextual ads that your visitors will be interested in to maximise your click through rate. There are also a handful of websites which give you the opportunity to get paid for each blog post you make on a specific subject. Pay Per Post and Review Me are two such examples, and they will pay you a certain amount of money to review a product or website for the owner. In a similar vein you can also review and recommend other people's products through affiliate links inserted into your blog posts, and earn money on commissions earned through any purchases people make. And once you're more established you can offer ad space on your blog too, and charge a fee for both classified and display ads if you wish. What could be better than setting your own price? But there is one final step you can take with your blog if you enjoy a change of scene every now and again. You can sell your blog! Once it is established and has plenty of revenue and traffic, you can usually sell it for ten times its monthly revenue. And then, you can start all over again with a whole new subject! So that's it – profitable blogging in a nutshell. If you have any questions feel free to leave your comments in the form below. And once you've done that, get out there and get started building your first blog today. With the internet such a large part of our lives today, more and more individuals are looking for opportunities to make money online. While some are doing it to bring in some extra cash, others are looking for full-time careers and are being quite successful with their endeavors. Many are doing this by becoming marketers of CPA opportunities. You, too, can make money marketing CPA offers. What is CPA? CPA (no, I don't mean "certified public accountant") stands for "Cost Per Action" and it is when someone is paid for an action resulting from a lead. CPA has been around for many years, but has become much more popular in recent years by mainstream marketers that saw the opportunity for profit. When you're marketing CPA offers, you don't necessarily have to sell anything to get paid. For instance, if you're making up advertisements for a product and a sale is made because of your advertisement, you'll make money. CPA has become so popular because you can make money without having to actually make the sale yourself. Collecting leads such as names, email addresses and locations is the most effective way of marketing CPA offers. Becoming a marketer for CPA offers is easy, fast and can provide you with a lot of fun and money! Becoming an online CPA marketer is not as difficult as one might think. You will need to have either a blog site or quality website set up before you can sign up as a CPA affiliate with a company or a CPA network (many are available on the web). Once you sign up, the companies will check out your site to ensure it meets their requirements. Once this is done, they'll contact you either by email or phone to ask you a few questions to make sure you know what becoming a CPA marketer entails as well as what your plans are as far as promoting their product or services. They'll want to know that you are aware of the rules and regulations regarding search engine and sale strategies. If you have any questions, this is the time to ask them so you're well aware of what's expected of you and what you can expect in terms of sales and money. Know your Company I know this is the internet and you can't be expected to know every company that's out there but, if you're planning on being a CPA marketer, you want to make sure they are a legitimate company and will play by the rules and pay you. Do some research about the company you're considering working with. Make sure they are what they say and are legitimate. There are many sites where you can check on the legitimacy of internet companies. Do your homework and get reviews on these companies. Only agree to market CPA offers for companies that you're comfortable working with. Once this is done, you'll find you're well on your way to a very promising and successful career as a CPA marketer. Make Money Selling E-Books Make no mistake – e-books are big business online. No matter what you search for there will be someone out there selling an e-book on it. But the best thing about them is that they provide one of the most potentially lucrative businesses you could ever hope to start online. So long as you do your homework and don't try and cut corners you can start making inroads into this business within days of deciding to get started. There is plenty to learn but none of it is beyond you – and even if you don't think you're up to the job there are plenty of people you can call on to help you. Make no mistake – e-books are big business online. If you're thinking of selling e-books to make money online, your best bet is to write your own But why do that when there are plenty of affiliate e-books around that you can promote and earn a cut from? The answer is simple. If you write and create your own e-book no one else will be selling anything quite like it. You've got a unique product that will draw attention since no one will have seen it before. As long as you do your research first, you could make a lot of money from one e-book alone. So first thing's first – how do you decide what to write an e-book about? Think about what subjects are currently popular online. Making money will always be a great subject (look at this blog for example!) so anything that taps into this field which doesn't cover the same ground as loads of other e-books could do well. Try and focus on a specific niche to get the best results; you could start by thinking about what you personally find interesting and see whether any of your hobbies might provide fertile ground to explore. Once you've got some ideas see whether there are already any e-books doing well online on that subject. If there don't seem to be any around you'll need to dig a bit further to see if your subject is going to be popular enough to attract a lot of sales. A spot of keyword research and simply looking up related search terms on Google can help reveal the answer to this. Okay – so let's assume you now have an idea for an e-book you think will be popular. Next up you have to plan the contents and think of a great title. Titles are very important since they will give the potential buyer an idea of what to expect from the e-book itself. It needs to be specific and intriguing – and full of promise. Don't worry if one doesn't occur to you straightaway; quite often you will only think of it once the book is almost written. The biggest problem when it comes to writing the book itself is staying on topic. It's very easy to veer off course if you're not careful, which is why having a pre-written outline to follow will keep you on track. If you plan this out before you begin writing you'll find the whole process much easier to manage. If you don't feel confident enough to write it yourself you can hire a ghostwriter to do it for you; there are plenty of sites online where you can hire a freelancer for a fixed fee that you decide on. This gives you complete control over the project. Incidentally the word вЂ˜e-book' can be somewhat misleading for newbies to the business. An e-book can indeed be a hundred pages or more long, but it can also be no more than a dozen pages or so. The price for a shorter e-book will of course be lower, but it is still more than you might think given the length of the book itself. Of course you need to think about more than just the e-book if you want to sell plenty of copies of it. You need to get the word out, and you need to have a great mini website to show it off. These mini websites are really single page sites which promote your e-book in a long sales letter. You would do well to spend as much time writing the sales letter as you did the e-book itself, since it has a very important job to do. First off you need a stunning headline that will grab the attention. You need to really sell this to everyone who lands on your website so don't be afraid to shout about the benefits of your e-book! You'll notice I said benefits there and not features; that's because the benefits will tell your readers what your book will do for them. That's a very important point to understand since it could make the difference between getting a reasonable amount of sales and being buried under an avalanche of them! Think about your price carefully too. Don't be greedy – but at the same time don't go too low either. You want to give an impression of quality. Do some research and see what similar titles in your subject area are selling for. You can also sell more copies by offering bonuses along with the e-book itself. Could you write a number of special reports as well, each one a few pages long, which relate to the subject of your main book? Anything like this will encourage still more people to buy from you rather than going elsewhere for a similar title. The ultimate goal for you should be to write a series of e-books which each have their own website to sell from. When you write each sales letter be sure to include plenty of keywords and phrases to attract a greater volume of search engine traffic to your site. Pick a good and relevant domain name too – it will help to draw in more people. The hardest step is in writing that first e-book. Once you've got going and you've had some experience you'll start writing them faster, picking better titles and subjects, and selling more copies as a result. Before you know it you'll have a great business on your hands. If you'd like to comment on this piece, please leave your message using the form below. Then get writing – your first e-book is there, you just have to get it out. Make Money Taking Surveys Are you looking for a legitimate way to make money online? Maybe you want some extra spending money. Or perhaps you need the money to pay bills. Either way, getting paid for filling out simple surveys can be a fun and lucrative way to earn that extra cash. In fact, there's quite a lot of money to be had — and the cool thing is that you can earn it in your spare time. Any time you can spare a few minutes — or a few hours, you can make money. Are you looking for a legitimate way to make money online? Maybe you want some extra spending money. Or perhaps you need the money to pay bills. Either way, getting paid for filling out simple surveys can be a fun and lucrative way to earn that extra cash. In fact, there's quite a lot of money to be had — and the cool thing is that you can earn it in your spare time. Any time you can spare a few minutes — or a few hours, you can make money. It's easy too. Once you have signed up with the right survey companies, all you have to do is check your email and pick the best surveys, and you're off to earning money every time you fill in the blanks. And if you're wondering why anyone would care about your opinion, let alone pay you good money for it, read on. There's a reason why you can make real money with surveys: Countless companies, including the largest international corporations, are desperately trying to find out what consumers want. And they're willing to pay a whole lot of money for market research. But they still have a problem. How can they connect with you, the consumer? It's not all that easy, so they hire survey companies to help them find out what people think about their products and what they would be most likely to buy in the future. They also want to know what it will take to get people to buy… And if you sign up, you'll become part of that cutting edge market research. It's really cool. You may have the chance to find out about new products long before they actually become available in stores. You might get to play video games that haven't even been released yet. And you might get to watch trailers for movies that haven't even finished filming yet. And the best part…. you get paid for your "efforts." That's because paying for you to take surveys is the quickest and easiest way for a company to get the information and feedback they need. And believe it or not, even when they pay thousands of people several dollars each for fill it in even one quick survey, it's cheaper (and more effective) for them than many other forms of market research. And it's way cheaper than making a costly mistake. Remember the NEW Coke? What a disaster that was! And it would have been so easy to prevent. All they had to do was ask people what they thought of the idea and they would have known better than to mess with a tried and true formula. But noooo. The company executives thought they knew what was best — and they fell flat on their face. So surveys can be essential for a company's survival. And they know it and are willing to pay for it. So why not let them pay you? Now you're probably wondering what it will take to connect with those big companies and get paid for sharingour opinion? All you have to do is find the right surveys… And the easiest way to do that is to join a club that specializes in helping consumers like you and me to hook up with the surveys that pay the most money. And the best one of those clubs we have found is a website called SurveyMastermind. Unlike a lot of other survey sites out there, it's a Free Service. Not only that, but they also specialize in connecting you with surveys that actually pay. And as soon as you join and sign up with the companies they recommend, you will start receiving surveys to fill out… and start earning.

The 600 Pound Gorilla How To Reduce Money Fights In A Relationship

14. dec 2011 14:35, ecgepe

Few issues bring out the worst in relationships and couples like money. Whether you're rolling in the dough or struggling to make ends met, money is the number one reason couples fight. В  When people enter into a romantic relationship, they bring a portfolio of emotions, hopes, fears, strengths and weakness – all of which have been shaped by our past. But it's very seldom that we address the portfolio of emotions we bring to money and finances, and so it usually becomes the 600-pound gorilla in the relationship. В  Here are a few tips to help you address your 600-pound gorilla: 1. Love and money have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Money is an emotionally-loaded issue for couples because each person brings their own set of values, beliefs and attitudes about money to their relationship – most of which have been formed by the time we are 12 years old. Conflicting values and attitudes about money are at the core of financial conflict in relationships. (Notice I didn't mention a word about love). 2. Most people don't really know how their views about money have been shaped. We tend to know we are either a "spender" or a "saver" – but most people couldn't tell you for sure how they got that way. So it becomes quite a daunting task to build a financial life that blends both partner's hopes and dreams for today and the future! 3. Money fights are rooted in what money symbolizes for each person in the relationship. Does money represent emotional security, control or power for you? Do you know what money symbolizes for your partner? You must know this information so you can begin to bridge the difference between what money symbolizes for you as a couple. And there will be plenty of differences to bridge since you grew up in two different homes, which, in all likelihood, valued money differently. Doing this will go an incredibly long way in helping to end, or at the very least de-fuse, your money fights. 4. Money fights have to do with each partner's perception that the other does not respect their feelings when it comes to financial decision-making. In other words, you or your partner feel disrespected or ignored by the other when a financial decision is made that you either disagree with or would not make. В  The key to reducing or eliminating money fights is to shift your mindset about money. Once you have done that, you are now in a position to shift your view of money as an emotion or power tool and treat it for what it really is – a commodity. If you can take all the emotions away from money and view it as any other commodity, (which it is) you will no longer view money in relation to power and control in your relationship. Once you have done this, you will be well on your way to stopping the money fights in your relationship!

Primitai

The big bang theory They keep winning the battle of the bands, but will they win the war? Fresh from a storming set at High Voltage festival in London, Music News meets guitarist Nick Saxby, a founder member of British metallers Primitai, to find out their secret weapon Primitai confess to being a laid-back band, taking each new experience as it comes. But after a few years of playing it cool and recording their debut album, Through the Gates of Hell, the five-piece got their act together. In 2009, they ultimately beat 20,000 yes, 20,000 groups of all genres to claim Surface Unsigned battle of the bands. So what gave them the edge? The thing that made us different was that we were a rock band: we had a vocalist as opposed to a screamer, because we like classic metal, says guitarist Nick Saxby, pictured. If you have an incredibly energetic set and you have a screaming frontman, that immediately alienates so many people. We sang and spoke to the crowd, and that's what gave us such a brilliant reaction. We try to connect with everyone in the audience. Our songs are really catchy, they're real fun, and they're real heavy at the same time. The pop lot liked the catchy part of it, the metal lot liked all the metal half. So that's what wiggled us all the way through. And winning this coveted competition, which saw them play their final set at the O2 in London, was not only a victory for them, but one for their genre. The only bit that was disappointing was all the metal bands were ranked in the bottom half, so [the competition] was favoured towards those bands that were much poppier and mainstream, says Saxby. It always felt like you're on a bit of an uphill struggle, but it gave us that extra oomph: 'no, you're not going to get rid of us, we'll keep going'. Determination and hard work is paying off for the five-piece completed by Guy Miller on vocals, Srdjan Bilic on second lead guitar, Jamie Lordcastle on bass and drummer Chris Chilcott and key to their late success was finally bagging someone to properly front the band. All the real kick-offs have come since Srdjan and Guy joined, says Saxby. [Guy] was the missing element we needed to make it into a circle. We always wanted that frontman running around. It's always good to have that extra nutcase bouncing off the walls and that's exactly what Guy is. One of the prizes we won from Surface was a wireless microphone and the wet dreams he's been having over that ever since, because he can go anywhere. He can go the length of a club and people respond so well to that. It was nothing we prompted him into. He's been in bands since he was 14, so he's well-rehearsed at what he does and he loves it. The energy we all create, it gives us a figurehead for that. With the line-up sorted and 10,000 of winnings in the bank, Primitai headed to the studio to make album number two, In the Line of Fire. We didn't know what we were going for when we started with two new members, says Saxby. The first six months they were in the band we were just practising for Surface Unsigned and I was writing stuff in between. When we got to the studio, we thought: 'let's experiment'. A lot of the lyrics weren't done until they came out of Guy's mouth while he was singing them. I was working at the time and I was texting lyrics to Jamie to try out with what they were doing. It was a nice, laid-back, easy thing to do and we're all happy as fuck with it. The eight-track result is heavy and packed with riffs but carries the appeal that flattened the competition in 2009. Theyre avoiding a niche sub-genre and flying the flag for British metal. Saxby says: You don't want to cross that line too far. You like writing your catchy stuff and the heavy stuff at the same time, but you don't want to sell out. What I don't want when we do an album is for people to go: 'that's a single, that's a single, that's a single', and then those three singles come out one after another. We always try real hard to make all the tracks as good as each other; of course some tracks come out better than others because some songs just are. Touring as support for White Wizzard and Firewind has helped to tighten their set, and with High Voltage festival under their belts, plus Hard Rock Hell in December, the band are gagging to properly get out on the road again and record album number three later in the year. But first there's another prize to claim. Primitai recently whipped yet more rivals in a second battle of the bands, which honours them with a set at Bloodstock Open Air festival in August. A band this relaxed and clearly talented obviously don't feel any pressure then? By the time we got to the final [of Surface Unsigned], it was a bit like, if we win, amazing, if we don't, it's been a fucking incredible ride, so we just enjoyed it, says Saxby. It was just fun to do the last one, but running up to that, we were playing with bands that ended up in the final, so that added the pressure. The one we probably most enjoyed was the semi-final because we hired a confetti cannon at the end of our set. We went out all guns blazing: you will not forget Primitai! That was the one where we felt the most pressure as we knew we were ending with a bang. "If you're involved in this year's Surface Unsigned, that's the only advice we can give: just make sure when everyone leaves they remember your set." Find out more...
